Beware the auto retweet

Automation can be a great thing, especially if it saves you time and effort on a daily basis.

Automated retweets are still very commonly used to automatically retweet people's tweets based on the hashtags they have used, but like anything automated, they need to be tested... thoroughly.

Take 'HTML 5 Digest' for example. This account auto-retweets anything with that hashtag #rwd as that is the acronym for Responsive Web Design. The only problem is, it's also an acronym for Rear Wheel Drive...

It may not be the end of the world, but it could well put people off following you, especially if it results in pornographic images appearing in their timeline like this one...
