Helpful tips to get the most out of your website & social media
Tip #15
Avoid 'full site' labels
Some sites use different pages for mobile and desktop content. Personally, I prefer to use responsive design as it has many advantages over this method, but if you decide to use separate pages it's important to consider the wording.
Google conducted a study where participants were given an option for a 'mobile site' and a 'full site'. The majority of participants assumed (and users will always make assumptions rather than checking in detail) that the mobile site did not contain as much content as the 'full' version.
One participant even commented that they preferred the 'full' version because it had 'so much more information', even though the contents of the two sites were identical.
